About Collin Wilson
Coastal Carolina Head Beach Volleyball Coach
Collin Wilson was named the fourth head coach in Coastal Carolina beach volleyball history in February 2024.
In his debut season, Wilson led the Chanticleers to a program-record 27 wins and an appearance in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship match. The team set new benchmarks with 17 consecutive wins, 124 flights won, and eight all-conference selections.
The Chanticleers remained undefeated at home for the first time in program history, outscoring opponents 39-1 in eight home matches. Wilson also led the team to its first-ever win over in-state rival South Carolina, defeating the No. 20-ranked Gamecocks 4-1 in Columbia.
Before returning to Coastal, Wilson served as head coach at Southeastern Louisiana during the 2023 season. In 2021, Wilson was recognized by the AVCA in their inaugural class of Thirty Under 30 Beach Award recipients, an award created to highlight emerging coaching talent.
Previously, Wilson served as the director of operations for Coastal's indoor volleyball team, working alongside head coach Jozsef Forman during the 2021-2022 season. He helped transition the program into Conference USA, where they navigated the toughest schedule in program history, securing 18 wins, including a strong home and neutral site performance.
During his first year at Coastal in 2021, Wilson assisted the Sandy Chants to a 24-8 overall record, advancing to the final four of the ASUN Conference Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament. That season saw two pairs record over 20 wins, and several players earned ASUN All-Conference and AVCA Top Flight awards.
Wilson previously worked with programs like Oregon, CSUN, LA Beach Volleyball Club, and USA Volleyball. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in hospitality, retail, and sport management and is an AVCA member.
